Anna and I moved from Flor and Pedro’s house to the hotel with the rest of the group from West Virginia and Arkansas. I am sure they are glad to have the peace and privacy of their house back, but I enjoyed staying with this warm family. This has been a good week. On Saturday afternoon we had a ladies day. I spoke on forgiveness, and after some great discussions we shared coffee and snacks.
It is a lazy sunny Friday. I am writing from the front porch of Flor and Pedro’s home. Classical music drifts from one house; neighbors are washing cars and sweeping their homes. With vacations coming up soon, the students are studying hard for their exams. Anna and I finished our last week in the Spanish school and have graduated.
Anna and I arrived in Costa Rica at 9:00 Costa Rica time and we were warmly welcomed, shown our bedrooms, and after a quick snack of fresh pineapple, went to bed. Friday and Saturday we went sightseeing, with the goal also of learning the bus system. Flor and Pedro are excellent hosts, and Flor is a wonderful cook. I am filling a notebook with her recipes. Like me she enjoys walking around town. We have walked all over the neighborhood, admiring flowers, and avocado trees in the small yards and watching for hummingbirds. When we see a pulperia or small store, I can smell all the fresh fruits, bananas, pineapples, plantains, and many others I don’t recognize.
